About Me
I received my B.S. in Biochemistry from the College of Charleston in 2015 where I worked under the direction of Dr. Wendy Cory investigating the photochemical fate of fluoxetine in the aquatic environment utilizing LC-MS/MS, as well as with Dr. Pamela Riggs-Gelasco studying how point mutations within the gene coding for frataxin production affect the structure and function of the protein. In the fall of 2016 I joined the Yost research group as a PhD student in the Analytical Chemistry Division. My current research focusses on understanding how microglial cells become activated in Parkinson’s disease using ambient ionization mass spectrometry, as well as other bioanalytical techniques.
Research Interests
I am primarily interested in utilizing ambient ionization mass spectrometry techniques to investigate and characterize biological systems.
